Pulpitis

A human tooth consists of tissues of different density and nerve endings. Its upper part is covered with substances such as enamel and dentin. Under them intertwined vessels and nerves, framed by soft tissues. All this is called pulp in dentistry. That is, a tooth is a full-fledged part of living flesh.
Pulpitis is an inflammation of the pulp, which, in most cases, is a consequence of the complication of caries. The inflammatory process, developing, moves from external solid to internal tissues. Sometimes traumatic pulpitis occurs - for example, due to mechanical damage to hard dental tissues. The further course of this disease is usually fraught with tooth loss. Much more serious complications are possible. Therefore, the disease must be treated.
Varieties of the treatment process
Treatment of pulpitis currently involves several basic techniques, divided into 2 groups.
1. Conservative treatment. Here, in turn, two methods are applied - biological, as well as the method of vital amputation. These are the most benign treatment options, as a result of which either the whole pulp or most of it remains alive. Thus, the tooth continues to live, and can continue to serve faithfully.
2. Surgical treatment is more radical. Implies a complete removal of the pulp, causing the tooth to die, and as a result, quickly destroyed. In the future, you have to remove it and put the prosthesis.
Unfortunately, conservative treatment is possible only in those cases when the pulp is not yet strongly affected. Such treatment in our clinic is used in the early stages of the development of the disease.
Methods of treatment of pulpitis
The method in each case is chosen by the doctor. It all depends on the degree of neglect of the disease and the type of affected tooth.
• Biological method - in this case, the tooth cavity is opened, all affected tissues are removed. On top of the pulp there is a gasket with medical preparations, as well as materials with the help of which a new dentin will be formed. All this is closed by a temporary filling. A few days later, in the absence of pain, a permanent filling is established.
• Vital amputation - the pulp remains only in the dental roots. All other affected tissues, in the cavity, are removed. An insulating gasket is placed, on top - temporary, then a permanent seal.
• Surgical method - the pulp is completely removed, nerve canals are filled. After checking the quality of the canal filling, a filling is placed in the dental cavity.
You should not bring the situation to surgery. At the first signs of caries, it is better to contact us at the clinic.
Carious cavities can be in various shapes and sizes. Their restoration is carried out with the help of modern composite materials.
Root canal treatment (nerve removal, canal treatment and filling) is carried out using modern methods, such as ultrasound, laser, etc.
